BlockThreat - Week 15, 2026
Only a few minor DeFi incidents this week. A rare chance for defenders to sharpen the saw and focus on the threats brewing in the background.
Greetings!
A relatively quiet week on the DeFi front with only three relatively minor incidents and less than $250K in total losses. These rare slower weeks are a good opportunity to catch up on security research, revisit lessons from past incidents, and celebrate positive developments across the ecosystem.
One example of that positive momentum is that multiple chains made announcements this week showing they are taking ecosystem security seriously. Solana introduced a comprehensive security program that includes incident response and monitoring, while Monad is offering dedicated device subsidies to high TVL projects. In the past, we have seen chains like Base adopt similar practices, including sponsored audits and monitoring service subscriptions.
Be sure to check out the DPRK section this week, which includes major leaks, new campaigns targeting the crypto ecosystem, and a special note from Tay on how deeply infiltration has spread across the space.
